I am debating between 2 breastpumps and I was wondering if I could get some opinions to make a more educated desicion? I am choosing between a medela pump in style original or an avent isis iq duo? I want the isis iq because it's ability to set it however you want or the medela because of it's long standing positive reputation. I do not want an Ameda because i will have to pump several times a day and need something with a strong motor, so from expereince coould I get some advice from you girls as to which one you would choose and why?

I have bought 4 different manuals and they are garbage...

I had the Even flo Elan Dual Electric...that worked great until the motor died (I only used it for 4 months!!)

I've heard bad things about the IQ

Now I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanced and you can set the pressure and I really really like the Dual Phase "Let Down" feature that it has...I got the one in the back pack and it's pretty cool and the pump is fabulous!!

I would definately go with the medela PIS Advanced...and if you choose to...I found a place that sells them CHEAPER THAN ANYWHERE...

I couldn't find it for less than $300...these ladies sell them for $228 tax AND shipping INCLUDED...

I use the Medela Pump in Style Original. I don't nurse my baby, I pump about 5-6 times a day 10-15 minutes at a time. I've pumped over 500 times since October. I highly recommend this pump. It has a 1 year warranty (save your receipt) even if you do have motor problems. I'd also recommend going to target.com and babiesr us.com and read the reviews there. You can also look into renting a hospital grade pump. they are about $30-35 a month (in my area) and they are also made by the Medela company.
Medela was also very helpful on the phone with me learning how to do it properly.

The medela is as close to a hospital grade pump as you can get.
I got the IQ uno and it never worked for me after a couple weeks of trying I took it back for the pump in style. I love it. It can hid it when I am places...no one but other moms is going to know what it is. I am a masters student and the carrying case is a great plus.

Don't buy a pump until you are sure breastfeeding is going to work for you...otherwise it may be a massive waste of money. Or if you get one gifted to you dont open it until you are good to go.

I had both, the Avent Isis was great for when I went out for the day.The medela is awesome!! I used 2 single electric pumps and they were very fast, the Avent hurts your hand if you use in constantly.

I used the Advent pump, I had both the electric one and the manual and I loved them. I used only the Advent bottles, so I didn't try anything else, but I was very happy with Advent and pumping was a breeze and very fast. I used the electric one at home( it was quite, but not enough) and the manual one at work since it is completely quite and I didn't want people to know that I was pumping when they came in the locker room and even the manual one was easy to use and fast! Big thumbs up for the Advent, worth every penny!

I have the medela manual pump... i dont care for it at all. Ive heard EXCELLENT things about the isis iq, much better reviews than for my medela.

The hospital gave it to me for free... lol, thats why iam still using it.

I'd get the IQ, its the one I was originally going to buy myself.

When I left the hospital they gave me the madela manual I didnt care for it much, but my baby had to go back in the hospital and they let me use the electric dual. I absolutely fell in love with it. I wish I could afford it.
