the sabres are definitely best in the eastern conference. but in the entire NHL, i'd say the predators. they have a very good team, especially since they have two great goalies (vokun and mason), then they went out and traded for forsberg.

but the sabres are definately up there with the predators, as well as the ducks, devils, and recently the penguins.

From Sharks country:
Sabres are the most exciting team and fun to watch, for sure; however, "best" is tough to pin down. if the question is "What time has the best chance to win the Cup," I'd include the following (and it could all change by the trading deadline): In the West: 1) Ducks, 2) Nashville, 3) Sharks (if they trade for Souray). In the East: 1) Sabres, 2) Ottawa (they're coming on), 3) Pittsburgh (and wouldn't that be fun).

Best team right now is probably Nashville.

If all the teams played at thier best, the order would be:

San Jose Sharks
Nashville Predators
New Jersey Devils
Buffalo Sabres
Vancouver Canucks

Dark Horse-Red Wings
Over rated-Ducks
Under rated-Tampa Bay

the sabres suck? are you kidding they kicked the $hit outta the sens last nite with 6 guys out including there co-captain who got a dirty check from a ***** player. they came back from a deficit with barely enough players to make 3 lines. anyone who doubts they are the best can look at the standings on nhl.com who's on top of the entire league? thats right the buffalo sabres!

This minute, sure Bufalo, of course with Af injured there may be some slipping.

New Jersey always seems to be on the top of the charts and
Pittsburgh seems to be streaking, although they are a bit youngish (of course so were the Oilers in the first few Cup years).

Im like the only arguing for the Ducks.
The Ducks are the best team when theyre playing at their best then the sharks. The ducks have great balanced scoring, good goaltending, and great defense(and not just Pronger and Niedermayer).

I think the fact that Buffalo is continuing to play so well despite the number of key players injured makes them the most likely team to win the cup.

Definitely the Devils. Brodeur is always solid in goal and should give them the support they need. Experienced scorers like Elias and Langenbrunner along with rookie Parise.
