Sorry, but not even close. I don't know how old you are, or what the range of movies is that you have seen, but some day you will understand what a naive question this is. (I'm trying to be kind here.) Just remember that there is a big difference between a "favorite" film and a "best" film. You might start your education by visiting the web site below. Scroll down a little bit and you will see the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest films of all time. Granted, these things are always debatable, but watch a few dozen of the titles listed below and think about your question some more. Have fun!

Yes, LOTR is the best trilogy ever! I'm a big Tolkien fan and was skeptical that it could ever be adapted to a live action movie, but then came along Peter Jackson and company and nailed it. From the adaptation, scenery, costumes, sets, to the incredible score of Howard Shore; it truly is wonderful. I've l lost track on how many times I've watched the LOTR trilogy - extended edition. I have high hopes for the Hobbit and can't wait for it to come out.

I have seen thousands of movies...as for the "best" well, that would depend on your particular taste. If you think they are the best, then for you, they are.
I would say they are definitely in my top ten movies of all time.
I did see someone said Star Wars, and I have to say they were pretty awesome as well...(yes, I did see them in the theatre when they came out back in the 70's).
The technology has become so advanced since S.W. and that is evident in the LoTR. As for Elijah Wood being a good Frodo, I believe he was very good in the role.
In most cases, the books will always rival the movies, and this applies to any book being made into a movie because when you read a book, your imagination is what makes it real for you and when someone else puts their vision of a story into film, it will never be exactly how you envisioned it in your imagination.
I do believe LoTR was incredible movie making and definitely well worth a best of the best label.
Good question.

- The Lord of the Rings trilogy is among the best books ever written.
-The movies very nearly captured the spirit of the books: I'd give them a 9 out of 10.

Hell no!
The original Star Wars Trilogy has withstood the test of time and will continue to do so long after we're gone.

I think "The Godfather" is the best, followed by Star Wars, then "Lord of the rings" (the first movie is quite good, the second so so and the third wasn`t that good).
Oh, I really like Indy...

Probably not. The books were great, but the movies were soso. I mean come on Ellijah Woods, couldn't they find anyone better??? In my opinion his weak acting brought down the whole franchise.
