Seriously, my friends German Shepherd jumped up to say hello today and butted me on the nose. It took a while to stop bleeding, but under my nose is split and feels huge. Prob be black and blue tomorrow.

I can see my nose now when I look down, thats not good is it?
Did do the ice thing at the time thanks. Although the dogs (yes the've got two) thought I had a treat and were even more interested in my nose. I put my comic relief one on for a joke when my b f came home, but he hasn't noticed I've taken it of yet. Can't even pucker up. Am I being a bit dramatic?

ICE ICE ICE!!!! Put an ice pack on your nose for twenty minutes every hour, take Ibuprofen or Aleve per package directions, but keep using the ice.

To help with the pressure and clean out the blood on the inside, try a saline nasal rinse (not a spray.) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It soothes with warmth, it draws out the entire gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean, but without the eye stinging).

Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this as often as you like with no side effects.

Keep it cool with a pack of small frozen vegetables, peas, sweetcorn or buy one of those specially made malible medical ice packs that don't freeze (handy for any future accident). Ibuprofen will help take down the swelling as well as give pain medication. Thats about all you can do apart from don't sneeze or laugh (that really hurts).

Wrap a bag of frozen peas in a towel and gently place this on your nose. The cold will help with the swelling and pain.
