Been there... Pregnant woman get very hormonal and with that you get different, let's call them mood changes. First remember she is doing the hard work, then just do the things she normally likes you to help out with. Mine would cry then be happy as ever then go back to crying all before lunch. If she continues with the " I am not hungry" just remind her the baby needs to eat. Have fun, it is all worth it in the end.

Pregnancy can be very hard for many women to deal with. She could very well be sick but she does need some medication to help her. Zofran is good it's very expensive (if you have insurance it should cover most of it) but it really works and takes away even the strongest nausea. She does need to see a doctor and talk to them just to make sure she's not depressed, she has so many hormones in her body now that she could be feeling depressed without even knowing why. Some ppl really don't like pregnancy but there are things that u can do to help her. Some make sure u take her to a doctor soon and if they take your concerns to lightly and don't help, find another doctor! There are ro many things out there to help her there's no reason she should suffer.

I don't agree with the assertion that she is depressed..Why? Because she cries because she isnt well. I have done that plenty of times during my pregnancy and I am not depressed.Yes this is normal. Its hormones

I do not feel hungry right now because I have had bad morning sickness and nausea and it just has robbed me of a appetite. I literally cannot even think about food. I have no interest because I just doi not feel well. Once she reaches 16 weeks she should get her appetite back

I have cried plenty of times because just don't feel good and it is that simple. Just hold her, be there for her and don't push her into eating if she doesnt feel well. Just make sure she tales her pre-natal vitamins

yes its because of the hormones. most pregnant women cry and they don't even know why they do it. just be there for her when she needs it and comfort her, she can't help it.

she really should be any more hungry than she was before. a pregnant woman only needs 300 extra calories a day and that's pretty easy to come by.

i don't like that so many people on here are saying don't worry, it's just hormones. half of that is right; it is just hormones. but you should not not worry! depression in pregnancy and afterward is a very serious issue. yes, it is caused by the hormones, and that is natural, but think of all the babies and women who are hurt by this type of depression. it is sad. she needs to tell her doctor about her feelings and find the best route to take from there (whether it be meds, counseling, etc..). depression in pregnancy is not something to mess around with. her low apetite could be from pregnancy sickness, but it is also a symptom of depression. all is normal, but take it very seriously.

One word: HORMONES. Get used to them. She'll seem like a raving lunatic for a while, even after the baby is born. But she will eventually return to normal. Just be patient.

The hormones that cause it are normal, but her reactions to them are not.

It sounds like she's suffering from depression. You should go with her to her next appointment and mention it to her OB. She probably needs medication. She could pose a threat to herself or the baby during and especially after the pregnancy if it continues untreated.
