I've had 3 people bring me guitars to repair that have cracked from dryness lately. I was wondering how many use humidifiers in their acoustic cases and guitars?? If you live in the cold climate and use your furnace, you should.

They make little humidifiers specifically for stringed instruments. You have to re-wet them every few days, but they are necessary.

I keep a humidifier in the guitar room and also one in the case. The one in the case is called The Guardfather. Seems to work for me.

I keep a humidifier in my room, because i've heard of guitars cracking like that, it gets tricky though, because if i use it to often my strings go out of tune! i've neer heard of putting a humidfier IN the case, although i guess if you keep your guitar in the case all the time you have to.
