If your membranes are stripped on Monday the doctor will tell you then how far dilated you are. I was at 3 inches for almost a month before my daughter was born. I don't think other than the doctor there is any way to self diagnose this.

Someone on here mentioned a self exam... DON'T do that unless you've had some kind of training on it. You could break your water.

Some women start to spot, but usually you won't have any indication until your doctor tells you. They usually start to do that exam around 36 weeks.

You can do a self exam if you feel comfortable. Just google it, you'll find information on it there.

I wouldnt do it unless you're already near your due date. Most doctors wont mess with your cervix until youre due, for fear of irritating it, causing problems, or even making you water break too early.

Not unless your doctor examines you and lets you know that you are dialating. Good Luck!

not unless you check!! I would not recommend you do that for risk of infection and or a start of labor.
