The Bible doesn't say anything about being gay, only about doing anything about it. Of course, the Bible was written by straight, white men, so a lot of prohibitions in the Bible are biased and downright prejudiced. I'm sorry, but "This is the word of God because I said so" just doesn't fly with me. If God was so obsessed with homosexuality, He would have addressed it in the Ten Commandments.

The Bible, ah, the Bible.

People most often cite Leviticus to allow them to indulge in righteous indignation about homosexuality. Very few of those who cite Leviticus actually follow all of the precepts therein.

The Bible is a book.

There is as much wisdom in Dicken's "Bleak House" as there is in the Bible, perhaps more.

I think it's OK to be gay and I don't care what those people who wrote the Bible centuries ago thought.

It isn't actually 'against' the bible. It is against some people's interpretation of the bible - a big difference!

Yes. The bible is nothing but a book. God didn't write it. Yeah, it says that he said this, he said that, but honestly. How do we know it wasn't just their version of the Enquirer? I could write a new book that said God spoke to me and told me that everyone should start smoking and dye their poodles pink. Bet you I'd get some followers, too.

Until God Himself appears before me and asks me to please stop having these feelings towards men, I'll continue to believe He thinks of me as His child and not just a gay guy. He put me on this earth for a reason and that's what He defines me by, not my sexuality.

It is OK to be gay irregardless of what is written in a book, preached from a pulpit, written on a sign carried by a man attempting to expunge humans from the earth, and blasted about by uninformed, ignorant, bigoted people.
