i bought this tachometer from one of my frens for a good price..goes up to 11000 rpm..but the problem is dat jst recently the backlight or the backgrounlight or watever they call it, has gone dim n now its gone off..which means i canot read the techo at night coz theres no light there to show me the numbers n the guage..so anybody here can help me out n tell me wat should i do coz its no use puttin a tacho which i cant read at night..

Its not the car tacho..its a seperate tacho

if it started out nice and bright and then started going dim and is now out , i'd suspect a ground problem. unless it's some kind of fluoresent bulb, bulbs don't go bad gradually. check your ground wire and or tapping on the tach (not to hard). other wise take it apart and make sure bulb is tight in it's socket. still not working ? try a new bulb. you can check the old bulb if you have a continuity tester. also look at the filament with a magnifying glass.

If the tach is working, it must be the light bulb. You, or someone, would have to take the tach apart to find the bulb, then look for a replacement.

replace the bulb or repair the groundwire to the light in the tach.
