My friends are starting a band, and I have been put in charge of camera and editing facilities. So, Im looking for a program that would allow them to record their songs onto my computer, and for me to edit them into a cd. I have the microphones and components, just not any idea how/where to record them w/out software. Any ideas?

There is a great freeware program available online, called Audacity. This will record your music, let you edit and add effects, and it's all free! I'm not sure of the website, but just Google it and it should show up.

there are professional recording studio programs out there. but if you can connect everything into a mixer station and plug the mixer into the line in port on your computer then you can record it with a line in recorder music match jukebox has one and audio grabber has 1. Audio grabber is freeware you can download it here http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/download.html
