I want to write a book on decorating and sell it on the internet.
It will be book and a power point cd.

How do I market this?

Would eBay be good for marketing my own book?

Help?

July,

Amazon is the best source for that. They are set up specifically for this. If you go to Amazon, type in "capture and continue" and you can see my book there.

Good Luck

In order to properly market a book, it is best to get professional help. This is especially true if you are serious about wanting to sell your book or about starting a writing career. Obviously this costs money, but most professional publishing firms will tell you the media opportunities for your book and shouldn't accept your book if they don't think there is at least some potential.

Have you written the book yet? One thing to keep in mind is that it is best to employ the services of a professional literary publicity firm 3 to 6 months before the publication date of your book (if you've already chosen a publisher).

Below are some companies I've seen that may help you once you get your book into a more finished form. Some of them will actually give you a free media analysis of your book.

www.bookpros.com (Publishing firm)
www.phenixpublicity.com (Literary Publicity firm)
www.prforbooks.com (Low-cost, do-it-yourself publicity)

Find small but reputable decorating mags, approach one of them and tell them that if they pay the costs you will let them distribute "x" amount of thousand free with their mag.
You can then use these figures to approach large decorating companies and the likes of amazon saying "I've already moved "x" amount of thousand units of this book, and i plan to wite another".
Companies want to see their return before they will distributeyour product.
Good luck!

What makes you think anyone would buy it? If you don't have a following already, who is going to buy this book and more importantly why should they buy it. If you can't come up with a clear answer, save your money until you can.

Do you have someone to print it for you or are you planning to sell it as an e-book?

Make sure you get a copyright on it before selling any place. E-Bay would be good
