Black Snake Moan (2006)
A God-fearing bluesman (Jackson) takes to a wild young woman (Ricci) who, as a victim of childhood sexual abuse, looks everywhere for love, never quite finding it.
When Rae, a wild child (and victim of sexual abuse) wakes up after a night of partying, she finds herself in the home of Lazarus, a former blues player. Rae is attached to a 20-foot chain held by the well-intentioned Lazarus who intends to "cure" her of her nymphomania.

Plot

Production
For the film Samuel L. Jackson spent six or seven hours a day for half a year learning how to play the blues guitar for several songs he plays throughout the film.[1][2] Christina Ricci wore an actual forty-pound (18 kg) chain during filming.[3] A public screening took place on December 9, 2006 in Austin, Texas at Harry Knowles' annual Butt-numb-a-thon, with director Craig Brewer in attendance.
Reception
On the television series Ebert & Roeper, filmmaker Kevin Smith, filling in for Roger Ebert, described the film as the best of the year thus far. Smith praised Ricci and Jackson, saying this was Ricci's best performance and Jackson's best performance since Pulp Fiction (1994). Richard Roeper also gave the film his "thumb up."
