I'm a Junior in high school and I need a topic for my research paper.

It can be ANYTHING related to U.S. History. Anything, anyone, any place. I wanted to do Charles Manson, but found out today, that it's been way over done. Does anyone have any ideas? I want to do something like Charles Manson...but I can't think of anything.

Check out http://www.ClassTopic.com They have some great topics that I've used in the past. Each topic has three good sources to get you started on the research, too.

Charles Mason was a cult leader - why not look at cults and why people join them?
Maybe find another cult, one that hasn't been done to death and research that one? There's the Jim Jones cult (your teacher might think this one's been done too much as well), there's the Heaven's Gate group that committed mass suicide in more recent history.
There's the cult down in Waco Texas where the big fire took place and killed many of the group members including their leader.

Theres lots of other murderers and serial killers you could use like John Wayne Gacy, Aileen Wuornos and the Boston Strangler.
You could also do a project on Martin luther King, Marilyn Monroes death, JFK, the founding fathers/pilgrims, 9 - 11, the KKK.

How about a medical condition, like AIDS, cancer, diabetes, or something along those lines? Or an important issue in today's society, like Abortion, legalization of marijuana, rising drug prices, or welfare? Or even a report on something you find interesting, like space, animals, or a different country. Or the history/way to play a certain sport? I hope these helped!

Music making you eat more. According to a survey by the journal Psychology and Marketing, soft, classical tunes encourage that you take time over your food, so you consume more foodstuff. So, switch off – silence is likely to make you more aware of what you’re putting in your mouth.

Acquire smaller plates. Little crockery means portion control is a lot easier – those diminutive helpings suddenly look huge and you’ll be happier to use less.
