We have a Medion operating system installation cd with recovery on and apparently it is also on the hard drive. How do i find/use this.?
And how do we 'empty' the comp to enable us to start afresh in the first place?
This might sound a really stupid and thick question, but when it comes to the workings of a computer, my knowledge doesnt go any further than typing on the keyboard and MSN!
Please make any answers simple to understand and follow!! and I MEAN simple!

Try putting the recovery cd in your cd drive, then reboot your computer, when your computer reboots you should be ask if you want to restore your computer, be aware that you will loose all your personal data so backup if you have to. Follow the screen to retore your pc to its factory defaults

Try restaring while holding R - this is a feature on rather new computers so not full proof. The disc should reformat (wipe out the disk) so it's like a new computer - make sure you back up all data!

Try find some "i386" folder. This is the recovery folder of your system. Then, try find some "install" or "setup" program. If you could tell more information about your system, maybe I can do a better answer...

It will tell you in the instruction book you got with it.Probably on the back page.If you don't have one switch it off. When you switch on
press Alt &F10 together and the screen will ask you how you want
to reset. At least for my make it does.If you have to press F8 on start
and begin from BIOS.
