that will give you a general idea; its not a set amount, it goes by both parents income (in most states), cost of day care, medical insurance etc etc are also factored in.

For 1 child 20% of total income it goes up 5% for each other child. At least that is what my husband pays though you can work an amount into the divorce decree, be warned up to 50% can be asked regardless of the amount of children. If you are a male get a very good lawyer. Don't rush it whatever you do the faster you want it the worst you will come out of it.

My brother divorced in TX, ex and daughter live there. He said straight 21% of income.

20% of your take home salary goes for the 1st child

and additional 5% if there is a second child
