Personally, I think you should wear whatever you think makes you look the best. If you think your makeup looks too dark, then it probably is. And if you think that you need more, then you probably do, trust your instincts. Most of the time, women can make themelves look stunning by putting on some mascara and some clear lipgloss. If your lips are naturally pale, then a tinted shade of lipgloss would look great. (you can even try putting a dab of tinted lipgloss on the apple of your cheeks while the wand is out, or on your fingertips)Our goal as women SHOULD be to look radient and healthy, not like a Bratz doll. ;-)

You have to make sure that its not too much. Like if you do your eyes more, skip the lips or the other way. I usually do my eyes and dont put any lipstick on. And i like to put some brown eyeshadow on. No bright colors. And some eyeliner on the eyelid and some mascara

make-up can work wonders.
I like to use lots of black liner and mascera on my eyes.pink blush on my cheeks. some lipstick in pink or deep red, lip plumping gloss, cheek highlighter,eyebrow pencil in auburn(my avater should obviously show you why), and some concealer under my eyes. Iused to wear foundation everyday, but I stp myself from pancaking it so i only wear it on special occassions.
once you start, you won't believe you were ever able to get by without it.

when it comes to make up there are many decisions and colors. If you have blue eyes i would go with a shades of brown, tan, gold. If you have brown eyes i would go with the shades of pink, gold, or green. If you have green eyes i would go with shades of purple, brown, tan, or gold, One tip is not to wear to much make up or else it looks trampy. Make it look natural.

use light colors. don't put a bunch on esepecially when it is dark. use a brown eye liner but not too much.
