get rid of it as fast as you can. seriously. my hand-me-down car was a 97 lumina and that car has more problems than its worth. i did appreciate having a car, but not one that was constantly breaking, broken, broke, etc. you have nothing to look forward to with that lumina except more problems. ours was very well maintained, we were the sole owners of it and drove it nicely but the thing still just fell apart. idk how to fix that problem, but my recommendation is just to sell it as is.

How do you know the timing is off! Check the plug wires first!

It could be the gauges, the fuel level sender in the fuel tank or damaged/loose wires from the sender to the gauge. Double check your fuses since that's the easiest thing to do. Look in the owners manual to find the instrument panel fuse.

I think you have a plug wire crossed, check it out before you blame the timing.

sound like you got a plug wire cross, look on the motor for the fireing order are call a part place for the fire order,

put some new delco wires on it, and put em on in the correct order.
