I HATE IT TOO! All of the artists are ex-gangsters! They have inspired everyone in my school (not me) to act just like them! I hate it! It is sexual words to a beat. No point, no values, no emotion, just lust. It has screwed all of my peers, I am afraid when my generation is 30, everyone's gonna be on drugs and in gangs and the whole world will become one big pile of s*^@!

Rock however, Is not all bad and inspires. It brings out just about any emotion you want it too. It usually has a point.

Rap should be banned!

Alright my say on the issue...
Maybe the commercial hiphop/rap you see on tv and hear on the radio most of the time is about the same things, but do you know why that is? The most commercial songs are intended for clubs and dancing, hence the faster rythym and music. However hiphop/rap is a great umbrella and there is much more to it than just the commercial songs about girls (cant think of a better topic for the club). Theres indie hip hop ie Gym Class Heroes which actually does feature instruments and very intelligent lyrics. Theres corner hip hop, the music you cant even find on the radio, made by people who actually do make hip hop on the streets. Theres overall smart hip hop ie Common and Mos Def, where the rapping is over greater issues and features a more intelligent vocabulary.
You people need to grow up, ignorance is not always bliss.

It used to be good...but then some ******* started polluting it with "gangsta" junk...and it still continues to be that way. Sadly. If you want good rap try the Beastie Boys or something like that. Maybe even Lupe Fiasco. The other rappers these days probably don't know what the word megaphone means.

Which means they should probably start going to grade school.

AAAH lol Rap is horrid, some is okay, some is intelligent, but all the Rap everyone always hears preaches sex drugs and violence, and the most horrid part, the part i hate the most, is when it preaches that woman are objects to be used and thrown away. it is sickening. there are some good rappers that people have mentioned and one of my excuses for a good rapper would be matisyahu who puts his religion into his raps and is intelligent and sings for a purpose but other than that majority of rap is horrible
