As far as the soldier part goes, they're referring to when carrying a rifle at right shoulder arms. When marching, you carry the rifle with the butt in your right hand, and your arm at a 90 degree angle, perpendicular to the ground, with the barrel pointing over your shoulder.

It's a kid song but i never remember what they say at that part. my favorite is the rap version that came out last year saying
