For the past 3 months I have had a 37 day cycles. Now all of a sudden the last cycle which just started was only 28 days... How do I chart this? How does this interfere with my Clearblue Monitor? Also, I have figured out that I ovulate on CD 18... Any advice ladies?

I'm 41, and I've experienced a couple of dramatic cycle shifts. In my teens and early twenties, the cycle would be long (about 36 days) for a while, and then a strange 21-day cycle would happen. Then, in mid-twenties, the cycles settled down a little to a more repeatable (sort of) 28-31 days. In my thirties, I struggled with endometriosis and took long term birth control and other hormone preparations, so I had about 4 3-day periods per year. After surgery to correct the endo finally worked, I quite birth control and settled down to a very repeatable 30-day cycle. After my son was born, we had trouble getting pregnant again, so I did a year's worth of infertility treatments which shortened the cycle to 26-28 days. Even after I quite those treatments, the cycle has stayed shorter.
So-o, I said all that to say that hormone changes over your life will vary the length and duration of your period. It's pretty normal. It makes it harder to try to conceive, but ttc is also pretty stressful which may also affect your cycle length, as well. I've also experienced short term changes with stressful circumstances (e.g. death in family, 9/11) and travel. All of these were over after a cycle or two.
Good luck ttc!

Fertility monitors are okay, but kind of a waste of money in my opinion. They work best when you know approximately when you're likely to ovulate anyway. Plus, your body can prepare to ovulate and not end up ovulating until later which can throw off your monitor.
The best way to learn about your cycles is by charting your fertility signs, namely your cervical fluid and basal body temperature. Your chart can predict ovulation, tell you when you are actually fertile, when you are not, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregany. Charting can tell you if you have issues w/ your cycles which are delaying conception or making it difficult to sustain a pregancy. A chart can also tell you when something more serious might be going on and you need to see a doc.
Every woman has unique cycles. Some women have "textbook" cycles" but many do not. Even if you have a 28 day cycle, there's no guarantee you have a 14 day luteal phase (time after ovulation and before the next period). You may have a shorter LP which could dramatically affect when you are actually fertile.
Conception also requires that you have fertile cervical fluid. Sperm can only survive in the woman's body for 30 min to 4 hours WITHOUT fertile CF. In the presence of fertile CF (especially the most fertile, egg-white like CF) sperm can survive 5 days. Since CF dries up quickly after ovulation, the best time to have intercourse is really BEFORE ovulation when fertile CF is present.
Some good sources: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software) The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility.

im in the ideal comparable boat. suitable comparable cycle days and age. I figured the reason mine have been given soooo long is using a weight substitute...yet its incredibly difficult. my final cycle replaced into 37 days long and so replaced into the previous, however the single previously that replaced into in simple terms 27 days. sucks!
