do NOT go to limited too. If anything, don't shop at limited too or justice, at least if you don't want to look kiddy. if you don't mind that 10 other people will have the same pieces of clothing as you (at least after elementary school it's like that) but still like cute clothes, go to...
american eagle - for everything! really cute flats, too
abercrombie and fitch, hollister - nice fitted polos, tons of colors to choose from, a little pricier than other stores -HOWEVER, hollister clothing is of poor quality (the materials aren't very good)
forever 21 - there's some cute stuff here and there and it's affordable
charlotte russe - i like their accessories (they have tons to choose from), but the clothes are of poor quality
agac'i - cute pieces in general
if you want fitted jeans that are measured like guys' jeans (measured by waist and length), go to Vanity (they have a website with store finder at vanityshops.com), but i don't like their clothes that much anymore
wet seal - it has some cute stuff here and there
gap - again, cute stuff here and there but it's more mature
old navy- not my personal fav because their stuff doesn't fit me, but they do have good stuff if you look for it, plus they always have tons of sales and it usually doesn't look like you're trying too hard compared to when people shop at other places
also, don't forget target! I know it may sound a little strange, but they do have pretty good clothes
those stores are often accosiated with the prep stereotype, but when you mix certain pieces, it makes it look unique. I know what you might be thinking "if you said that a lot of people buy stuff from there how is it unique?" well i can't show you, but for example, there's this girl at school whose outfits everybody thinks are cool, but it's because she buys stuff from there, only she doesn't think when she puts stuff on. it's like the less you think about it, the more mismatchey-but-cool it looks. maybe you can pull it off, but maybe you can't; i don't know. also, if you want fashion tips i strongly recommend these videos:

If I had $2000, I would flourish my closet with Abercrombie & Fitch and Lacoste.
