I want to connect two computers for gaming, what is the best wire for the job??? Also what else will this wire let me do?

you need a router and networking cables.

Your answer's a crossover cable, but it'd be better if you got a small router or hub.
you can connect a crossover cable from the ethernet port on each computer to the other computer.
OR
You can use a small 4 port router or hub too. More expensive, but a bit better speeds, and more use down the line.
OR
you can also setup a peer-to-peer network using wireless network adapters that plug in to each of the computers ethernet ports.

for computer to computer, you need a crossover cat5 cable (assuming both have network cards).

if you have a hub (or a wireless router with ports) then you can use regular cables and plug both of them into the back of the hub - but then you'd need 2 cables plus the hub.

what else? you can network the computers together, file sharing, printer sharing, etc.

the best wire for the job is coxial cable. It let you go faster and it is cheap
