How can I seriously tell if someone is a nerd?

Ask how many Star Trek episodes he/she can name. If more than five, he/she is a nerd.

It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what YOU think of the other person. When you conform to other peoples standards you do yourself a disservice. You could miss opportunities to know some really great people.

I think you can tell it if their main strength is the intellect, but they aren't so good at other things outside of it.
