During Bill Clinton's terms times for Americans were good. I will admit that times weren't too bad under Reagan or I guess even Bush Sr.

They are so obsessed by their hatred for Clinton that they cannot see the good things that he did. They would probably put a bad spin on him helping the tsunami victims if Bush Sr. hadn't been there with him. I liked Reagan too. he was the last conservative that I voted for.

I will answer your question with a question. If the Clinton years were so good, then why do we have a problem with terrorism. You do realize that sleeper cells started in this country when we were so busy trying to figure out who Clinton was sleeping with right? You do know that we still do not have a health care plan worth anything right? You do realize that this man and his wife supported and still do late term abortions? You do understand that every one of those democrats drag their feet when it comes to standing up for our country? They may have served in the armed forces but they sure cant make a stand now.

Am I a republican? some times. Am I a democrat? sometimes. No I am not wishy washy I look at the candidate not the party. I know some terrible republicans the same is said for democrats and no one wants a liberal they can't make up their mind on what color the sky should be so no to them.

I will admit that overall times were not that bad in the nineties, but my question is what did Clinton do directly that made those times good?

Economy - he took credit for economic policies put into place under the administration of Bush Sr while raising taxes on average working class Americans.

Balanced the Budget - smoke and mirrors. It was accomplished by dessimating military and intelligence budgets and borrowing from the Social Security Trust Fund.

Health Care - he created a panel that was going to revamp health care, but didn't bother to include one representative from the medical and insurance fields. In the end the plan was so convoluted and unworkable it couldn't even be presented for real consideration.

International Terrrorism - Too many terrorists attacks against American interests both at home and abroad. He turned down the offer to extradite Bin Ladin from Sudan. His justice department put policies into place which made it impossible for intelligence agencies and law enforcement to properly share information.

Keep America safe - Only if we ignore the military cuts, terrorists attacks without recourse, allowing China to steal vital secrets and giving North Korea technology which accelerated their nuclear program.

Domestic Terrorism - Do you remember Oklahoma City?

Treated American Fairly - Let's ask the Weavers if they were treated fairly at Ruby Ridge. How about asking the Branch Dividians how they felt about Waco? That is if you can find the ones who are still alive.

The list goes on and on. Look I don't particularly like Bill, but then I don't dislike him either. In fact I voted for him in 96 because I thought it was thr right choice. Democrats have this romantized view of Bill Clinton which doesn't stand up when you examine the facts, but if you can provide even one policy he instituted, or one law he spearheaded through Congress which made life better for the average American then I will give him credit for it.

The President can do very little to influence the economy. The credit for Bill Clinton's good times should go to Newt Gingrich, who engineered the Republican take over of the House of Representatives. Bill was powerless to do much of anything except for those first two years, when he and the Dem Congress raised taxes the largest increase in history.
Newt and crew reformed Welfare and Clinton got the credit for that as well. Republicans reformed the Bankruptcy laws before their arrogance got them kicked out of Congress.

They were good because 1) there was a big economic boom in spite of Clinton's HUGE tax increase; 2) we had Newt and a Republican congress to keep spending under control;, and 3) Slimey Willie was too busy defending himself from all the sex scandals and crap to get too actively involved in mucking up the government and the country. Clinton was a poor president at best. He is a disgusting human being and a sexual predator, and a liar of the first magnitude. Other than that he's not too bad. He is one heck of a politician.

As a Republican, what was important to me under the Clinton Administration, Clinton Failed To Complete. Clinton never made keeping schools safe a priority, keeping young adults off drugs a priority, and Never kept America safe from Harm and Evil. America did prosper but what was important for me during the Clinton Administration the administration never accomplished much.

Clinton had to shut down the Republican Congress for over a month to make them submit a balanced budget. With Bush on the other hand they have caused the 25 trillion dollar deficit. Clinton left George Jr. with reserves he blew on his buddies with in two months of his appointment. No they wont ever admit their own wrong doing until they have to pay back the credit they have already spent in Iraq.

A monkey could have been a good president during the nineties. But he didn't finish the job and look at everything that came up after wards. He lost a great opportunity. Bush has made big mistakes too.

Will you admit that times were incredibly good under Coolidge? By liberal "logic" Calvin Coolidge was the greatest president in American history. Clinton left a weak military & a recission, as well as corporate scandles waiting to explode.
