Congratulations on your new baby!

Call your local parish, explain your situation, and they will answer all your questions.

Hope to see you in church.

With love in Christ.

You can go to a local catholic church and talk to the priest, or you can look it up online and call. some catholic churches are strict, meaning, you might have to attend sundays til the baptism, or some could you jus tell you to attend the classes wit the godparents. some churches want the godparents married, while others dont care. when i baptized my nephew, i went to one class, and that was it. they went over what prayers, how you hold a child, things like that. while some churches, want you to attend 3 or more classes. it really depends of the church. I would go personally cause they are much more able to help you rather when you call and you can even set a date right there.

I don't think you have to be a member at some churches. We got my brother baptized at a church that we did not belong to (and we don't even go to church), so obviously it doesn't make a difference. I'm planning on doing the same thing. My plan is to call up all of the local catholic churches and find out what their requirements are...I'm sure at the end of the day it comes down to money like everything else.

When I got my first child baptized, my husband and I did not belong to a local parish yet. I called the local church and spoke with their baptism coordinator who scheduled a meeting to fill out some forms and present my child's birth certificate. I went to the meeting and was told we had to join the parish--which we did because the church requires you to have a "home parish" where they keep records of all the sacraments your children take part in. The baptism coordinator photocopied the birth certificate and scheduled me, my husband, and our baby's Godparents for a baptism class. (We had to take a class on the role of parents and Godparents in a child's spiritual life.) After we took the class, our daughter was baptized.

P.S. It didn't cost anything.

Find a church and tell them what you're interested in. I'm sure a priest would be interested in talking to you about it. Some churches may require you to join the church first.

From my personal point of view, baptism of infants isn't Biblical, but if you really feel so moved, that is what you'd need to do.

Tell them to baptize your baby. You don't work for them; they work for you. Once a Catholic, always a Catholic. It is best not to pay too much attention to some of these point grabbers. They will be nice just to get 10 points.

Find a church and pay the $500 the priest asks for, set a date and send out invites. But...better yet, don't. Let the kid decide when they have the say so in it.

The Church is only interested in the baby so go to the church office and book a Baptisim. You are not going to be interrogated or Judged..

Roman Catholicism cannot unbiblically "infuse" the Holy Spirit into unbelieving babies through infant baptism.

Better go and bring your child to a true christian church.
