The reason I am NOT voting for him has nothing to do with race, money or whatever, I'm not voting for him simply because he is inexperienced, plain and simple. I dont care if his ancestors weren't slaves or if he does have money. I speak correct english, I was never on welfare, I am currently in college and I work...so all that bullcrap about Uncle Tom this and that it's true for some, but that is from the ignorant majority of blacks who don't know the facts or know any better- i know because i un across a lot of them.
Oddly enough I know ppl who will vote for him only because he is black, which is not a good reason. I have not heard him say anything about how he will help our country--white, black, asian, or hispanic. What about Social Security or taxes? He doesn't have a plan. Everyone has their own reasons for voting and who they pick to vote for, but if you pick someone just cause they are black, a woman, white or because they have awesome hair or because "daddy" easily got you were you are(damn nepotism) then that's retarded!
As far as the whole Uncle Tom thing, yeah there are blacks who feel like because another black doesn't have a hood story, or the speak correct english (or white as some say) or because they have 2 parent homes (yes i know ppl just that ignorant) that they are not fully black. I go through that myself but do I care hell no!! But most blacks just feel like our entire race needs to stick together in richer and for poorer till death do us part and its not like that. We bring each other down more than whites. I don't give a rip if Obama is elected (but in all honesty him and Hilary really dont have a chance) someone needs to do something about gangs and inncocent people being killed (mainly little children caught in the crossfire-but thats a state thing I guess). But whatever...I'm voting for John Edwards

Boy, did you miss the point!!!! Obama HAS the black vote locked up. He's talking to WHITE voters with all that Bill Cosby stuff. Black churchgoers don't need a lecture on that. They're solid citizen types who are salt of the earth. Obama ain't fooling nobody. Least of all Jackson. Obama's CAMPAIGN accepted the apology, not Obama, who said NOTHING. They weren't about the let Obama himself touch that one with a stick. Jackson's comment is totally radioactive and you haven't heard the last of the friction between Obama and the Old Guard in the civil rights movement. Have you noticed how NONE of them are EVER on the same stage or platform with Obama? Where are the black faces at those Magic Campaign Rallies? There are never more than 1 or 2 behind Obama. When he does black events, there is never a televised formal program. OMG, Keep Obama away from too many black people. It scares Whitey. Obama has no political sense but somebody in that campaign should have known better than to think that they could EVER have trusted Jackson.

There is nothing more idiotic than complaining about the status of any given category of people (race, religion, monetary, etc) and then complaining further when that status changes.
I for one think that we are more than overdue a change in what type of person generally gets elected into office. It is usually old white men who come from rich families with histories in politics. Not to say that Obama doesn't come from a well off home with such ties, but because of his heritage, he IS slightly different from what we usually see. The bottom line is that he IS black. More importantly though, educated and seems to be a stable family man with a willingness to try to change the country for the better.
Why anyone picks at his heritage at this point is ridiculous.

There's a lot more bigotry among the Black community toward their own than most White people have any idea. When I taught in the inner city, the kids made fun of kids who were too dark or too light or those who were from Africa.

He doesn't share their heritage. My ancestry is a traceable lineage of Welsh, English, and Scotch-Irish. Does that mean I'm supposed to identify with every Brit from across the way?

Actually I think it may be Barrack Obama but no big deal. Either way, he is very respected by the black community.

Why can't people look at the person instead of the color of their skin? Actually I keep hearing people b\that are thrilled that there's a black guy running.
I'm not thrilled he's in there because he's incompetent and inexperienced! He would be awful.
