After all of the money we have spent on rebuilding Iraq and Iran and lets not forget Baghdad, when do the become part of the United States? Will they have to take the citizenship? Or are we going to continue our practice: come over here and we will give you thousands so you can start over and not pay back anything we give you? We can not do that for our own people, but, we will do it for outsiders.
I live here and no one has offered to just give me money to start a new life. What did I or any other United States Citizen do to end up on the wrong side of that deal?

Only with a new administration of Progressives will any real and proper change take place. This wouldn't even be a concern if America didn't vote for Bush again.

As for immigrants getting benefits and rebuilding Iraq, please remember that it is current administration "Republicans" doing that. All I see are complaints about Democrats, when Democrats never wanted us there to begin with. Besides, if that offer was extended to them, you should blame the Bush administration, not the Iraqis. They didn't fly planes into the Twin Towers. According to the government, radical terrorists from Afghanistan, who Bush did business with, did that. everyone seems to brush that under the rug.

Also, as a former immigrant and current citizen, no one ever gave me anything for nothing and I never got on any government assistance program, except for 4 weeks of unemployment after my job which I was on for 8 years sent my position to India and let me go. I started broke; learned what I needed to and earned money from working my way up like every American should.

Ok for starters it is a little difficult to know if you are asking a question or just venting. Im thinking the later.

but will attempt to answer anyways

for starters im sure you know that they will never be part of the states.

and as for as you being on wrong side, your not, you enjoy many many things they do not, understandably you, as most of us do, feel we give too much to foriegn people. what you do not and I don't totally either understand, is what the end result is from us giving much away.
It really is this simple, when your running a buisiness if you do not seek outside help be it employees financing or other , your company will not grow. The problem is with most of us we don't think outside of our own selfish little worlds. Hope that makes some sense to you...Lets

ps if you really think you are hard done by, why aren't you trying to change our policy's, or are you content to just complain about it? Food for thought.

I think my dear you are victim of false propaganda. Most of the money being spent is ending in the hands of Americans Legally or otherwise. If Iraq would have been rebuilt the Iraqis will have a much more positive attitude toward the occupation force. If you do not believe me ask Harry Waxman He will tell you the truth .

We spent more rebuilding all of Europe and Japan after WWII. None of them became part of the United States. However, they did become allies and partners in defeating the Soviet Union. It's an investment in our childrens' future, so they don't have to fight the same wars we do.

1) They won't.
2) When did we rebuild Iran? I must have missed that.
3) Isn't Bagdad PART of Iraq? Or did you mean Bafdad, Kentucky?

I don't know if you were being sarcastic but, no, Iraq will not become apart of the US. They have set up a democratic government (parlimentary), and will remain an independent country.
