The nipple that the shower head is screwed onto should unscrew from inside the wall. Before I would attept that I would hold the nipple with a pair of channel locks and use a cressent wrench on the shower head.

Drop by a Home Depot and look in their "Plumbing 1-2-3" or "How To 1-2-3" books to see how a shower is plumbed up. If your still not comfortable doing this you could ask a friend who's handy or hire a handy man.

Use channel locks or a pipe wrench, If you are going to use it again put a cloth or some tape on the pipe so you don't scratch it.
