YES but rare the tubes grow back togeteher in a certian number of cases in a 10 year study. Luckily after that time a persons fertility is usually reduced by age.

Normal results
After having her tubes ligated, a woman does not need to use any form of birth control to avoid pregnancy. Tubal ligation is almost 100% effective for the prevention of conception. The possibility for treatment failure is very low—fewer than one in 200 women (0.4%) will become pregnant during the first year after sterilization. Failure can happen if the cut ends of the tubes grow back together; if the tube was not completely cut or blocked off; if a plastic clip or rubber band is loose or comes off; or if the woman was already pregnant at the time of surgery.

It's unusual, but certainly possible. Unless your tubes were cauterized, then it's 99.9% not possible. But if they were cut or clamped, there is a small chance. It could be pregnancy or some kind of hormonal imbalance. Are you in your 40s? It could be premenopause. If you were stressed out or traveling around the time of ovulation, it could have made you ovulate later, which would then make your period come later. Without much detail it's hard to say one way or the other. Rule out the obvious first and take a pregnancy test. If you're 4 days late you will get a pretty accurate result. If it's positive get to the doctor ASAP because getting pregnant after a tubal ligation puts you at a high risk for an ectopic pregnancy, which is very dangerous. If it's negative, you may want to go to the doctor anyway and get a blood test to be sure and have him check your hormone levels to see if something is going on. Good luck.

Following tubal ligation, there is a low risk (less than 1%) of ectopic pregnancy.

Generally the chances of you getting pregnant are slim to none. Unfortunately there are very few that do end up with child. My ex sister in law is an example. About 3 years ago after her third child she had a tubal ligation. She delivered her fourth child about 3 months ago.

Yes, you can still get pregnant. Tubal ligation doesn't prevent conception, it prevents implantation... in fact, for the most part it completely prevents implantation.. in the uterus. I know a woman who had her tubes tied for 14 yrs and got pregnant but since the tube was cut, the baby grew in the tube (tubal/ectopic pregnancy) and she almost died. I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm just saying that if you start to have pregnancy symptoms and pain in the side, please get checked out.

You do still have the possibility of having a normal uterine pregnancy, I know two women who had pregnancies after tubals, funny enough their hubbies had both also had vasectomies.

If you can be pregnant or if you have infertility problems I reccomend to follow this method http://pregnancy.toptips.org

Many factors can cause a couple trouble in conceiving a baby, I'll list a few of the most common ones in women:
Anorexia or other dietary dysfunctions
Lacking amounts of FSH and LH are produced, so ovaries aren't as functional as they could be, and so not many eggs are produced
Stress, causing periods to become irregular
Medications such as cancer treatments, antidepressants, hormone therapy, pain killers, and antipsychotic drugs can all cause temporary infertility.

With the method that I posted above you will be able to get pregnant!

slim to none. i'm in the same boat. in-vetro fertilization or artificial insemination are your only options if you wanted to get pregnant (you could also try praying really hard)
