the end that screws into the engine is the end that keeps melting

If you mean the opposite end that the plug wire hooks to, I would 1st ask which cylinder? If its number 3- check for a broken vacuum line at the rear of the intake, a common problem with these is that the hose breaks, leaning out #3 cylinder and causing a problem inside that cylinder. ( a lean cylinder can create spark knock, which isnt good for the engine or spark plugs)

You didn't say which end is melting. If the tip of plug where you hook the plug wire is melting then you are getting arcing there and should replace the plug wire. If the end that goes into the motor is melting, you may want to get it to a mechanic and see waht's going on before you destroy the engine. Good luck.

Don't know about the coil, but check the gap on the spark plugs to see if they are right. Most come out of the box ok, but then some need to be gaped appropriately.

Sounds like a very lean air fuel ratio for your spark plug problem but I don't know about your coil.

first of all I would try checking the gap on the plugs, but you may have some burnt valves, if they don't seat completly exaust heat can get to the plugs causing them to melt. you may need to find a good mechanic.

A partially blocked injector that is causing that cylinder to run very lean! Your valves might be at risk too!

I would suspect of a partially blocked injector that is causing that cylinder to run very lean. Your valves are also at risk.
