My mum was superstitious, and she also didn't like red and white flowers at a wedding for the same reason.

I have no superstitions...I used to have loads! Then it got ridiculous...I couldn't cut my nails on a Sunday for fear of having the devil on my back all week ha! So I invented a new one....that I mustn't be superstitious or that won't be good!

Funny you should say about red and white 'cos when I was getting married I ordered red roses. That's all I wanted. The florist said No, because it means blood and bandages but I insisted. The day of the wedding my flowers arrived and she'd poked some yellow flowers between the roses!!!! Grrrr!

I've heard that red and white flowers in a vase together means death but never at a wedding, I had a white dress and red roses and I'm still alive 23 years after my wedding day.

No superstitions here. The colors at my wedding were red and white. That was 17 years ago and no one close to us died until last year, and those people were elderly.

Im not at all supersticious, but I was always taught to stir a cup of tea 7 times clockwise, 7 times anticlocwise and tap 3 times to make it perfect and i still do it to this day! makes the tea round at work take a while tho!!!

never heard of that one.
dont tell your daughter that, she probably had her heart set on having red and white and now you have gone and ruined her dreams!
thats horrible.
shame on you!
if she doesnt believe in it doesnt matter.
now go and tell her you got it wrong and she should have whatever the heck she wants!

don't let your superstitions ruin her day!

I hate telling someone that something has NOT happen to me before (something bad like an illness, accident etc) because it's typical that it's bound to happen. I always make sure i touch wood then.
Also, i avoid walking under a ladder if i can.
That's about it :)

i always heard no black at a wedding, not red & white... mine are too numerous to list all, but i say "bread & butter" & clasp hands with anyone i am walking with if i am momentarily separated from by say a telephone pole or other person...
