Yes, Yes, and YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some people get sooo wrapped up in it that they don't have time for anything else. Have you ever heard that story about the poor Chinese man? He is happy and plays his flute with his family every night. The rich man is so angry that the poor Chinese man is happy and plays his flute. To try and stop him from playing his flute he gives him money. The rich man says "Here you go kind neigbor!" Then he left. Now the poor man thinks...hmmm i really shouldn't be taking this man's money. So he says, "I'll return it tomorrow!" Then tomorrow came around and he thought, "maybe....I'll just count it, then give it back." So he counted it. over, and over again. He didn't play his flute that day. Nor the next or the next. He finally counted it so many times and decided he counted it correctly. Then he put it in his bag and put it in his desk. He left. Then he realized, oh no! This is bad. I need to hide it better. So he went and hide it, over and over again. He stayed in his room all the time now. His family was un happy. They missed the man he used to be, loving and kind. And the flute! He had never played the flute since he got that money. All he ever thought about was money. So his wife went up to him one day and asked him what was going on. The husband explains and she says, "Well...let's just hope you never turn out to be like the rich man who lives right next to us...all he ever does is sit in his room and counts and hides his money!" The wife left. She said this because she knew who he was turning into. The husband stopped counting his money and thought..."I was so much happier before, I miss my children, my wife, and my flute! This is crazy! How could I let money tear my life apart!" So he collected the money and returned it to the rich man. "Thank you, but this money is ruining my life. I don't even play my flute anymore!" The rich man was shocked. He had never thought about much but money. The rich man stuttered and the poor man walked away. That night there was a flute playing. A lovely sound. The cries of the family dancing and loving one another. The poor family learned that love is much more powerful than anything. They would never let money tear them apart again!

This is a great story! I heard it when I was younger and have passed it on many times. This is what our world is. Money leads to crazy things like war. War isn't love. War is cruel. Yes. War leads to loneliness, unhappiness, friend-less, love-less, and everything horrible! It can lead to murders and crimes!

Not really, money really defines what is evil.
I'm poor as dirt, if I was caught doing anything I would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, as I have found out through experience.
I also found out through experience that if there is another person present for the same crime, one who's family has big money, all of a sudden the crime isn't that bad, they were just misguided and don't deserve jail, just send them to some kind of rehab and have them say sorry.
So i wouldn't call it the route to all evil, but it makes it much easier to be evil without recourse.

No, it is: 'for the love of money is a route to all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.' To put in into context for you.
1 Timothy 6 verse 10. The Bible.

Hope we can learn from this one!

Only one person (Blaksleefam) has correctly quoted what the Bible says about money, which is;
"The love of money is a root of many kinds of evil." -1 Timothy 6:10, NIV
Money leads to a lot of evil but can also lead to many blessings. One man kill another man because he wants his wife for his own, that is one of many many evils that have nothing to do with money. The root of all evil is self motivativated satisfaction- or all forms of greed. Making yourself "#1" or putting yourself before others or anybody but yourself.

Attatchment is the route of all evil. attatchment, or craving towards money is very common but if people craved dog-biscuits we would say dog-biscuits were the root of all evil, its actually the craving itself (a form of attatchment, along with aversion) that is the route of all evil, in humans anyway. I learned this on a course i did last week:) however, for a more amusing answer please look at http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/adityaag/girls.jpg

hope this helps;)

No, the saying is "Money is the ROOT of all evil"
Like the roots of a tree. The base, the start, the bottom, where it came from.. etc.

The LOVE of money is the root of evil. When you love something completely you will do whatever it takes to have it in your life. The love of money can lead down some pretty unsavory and lonely roads.

No, there was greed and lust before Money was around. If there is a route of all evil, it is Man's insatiable desire to be better than his neighbour
