The nureologist told me last week it was to check activity of brain and electrolytes, had a subdural haematoma 2 years ago. I have had CT scans and MRI scan before only don't know what this is going to be like, so will my hair have to be cut in places or will whatever they put on my head be sticky I'm not worried only just want to know what to expect before I go as I didn't think at the time to ask so any help would be grateful Thanks

Thanks for your answers it was not what I thought it was going to be from what the letter said it was checking all the blood flow from my heart to my brain all done through my neck, have got a letter this morning to tell me I have to go for a CT head next month and also to see someone in Neurophysiology. Thanks again for your answers.

Please don't worry about this my son had it done. You can take your favourite tape with you and they will play it for you while you are inside the scan machine. Also take someone with you and they can hold your hand all the time. They give you a rubber ball you can press if you feel panicky and they will bring you out right away.
So don't worry you will be fine. GOOD LUCK.

No haircut. They will have you lie down on a not so comfortable tble and then slip you inside this really large machine. Some people experience claustrophobia, as it is a tight sqeeze, and you arent supposed to move. But, dont worry - you'll be fine!!

Best of luck!
