yahoo is a webpage internet explorer is a internet browser, you deleted the shortcut but when you click yahoo, it opens it in internet explorer, therefore you still have internet explorer. i suggest getting firefox, which is open-source, more customizable, and safer internet browser. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

You should be able to find your IE in your start menu, that way you dont have to use your Yahoo Shortcut. Once you find it, click and drag it to your desktop and viola! A new IE shortcut!
