i was wondering, why is it that i always feel like throwing up after i eat? another thing is that i can't eat at resturants because i can't hold my food in. lets say if i eat at a resturant, i can't hold my food in. but if i bring the food to my house i can eat it just fine. but sometimes i want to throw up after i eat. also when i wake up i can't eat because thats when i really feel like throwing up. but i can eat later on the day. but why is it that i always feel like throwing up when i eat? my brother told me that could be depression, which i believe i might be.

If not accompanied by heartburn, then it is likely gastritis. Get to a doc sooner than later before you get too weak from not eating. I highly doubt this is related to depression or an STD. Very unlikley. Google gastritis along with symptoms and see if there's a match. My bet is that this is your problem. You'll require medication (e.g., sandoz-ondansetron) but hopefully will feel better soon.

Take ginger root capsules. It helps alot with nausea. I used to have terrible car sickness. Ginger helped alot. Also if it is depression try St. Johns wort. Get capsules for it in the herbal section at Wal-mart. Get the kind that
you only have to take 3 capsules a day. Take all three at once. Get the best you can afford because some brands you have to take 9 a day for the same effect. St. Johns Wort is very cheap compared to prozac and other prescription depression medications and it has worked every bit as well for me as any of those other prescription meds. No exagerration, I've taken most of the major MAO inhibitors out there so I speak from experience. That stuff is great with out all the terrible side-effects. Also look for something called 5-HTP in the herbal section as well. It works well in conjunction with St. Johns wort to inhibit the too-fast reabsorbtion of serotonin which is a main cause of depression. Take them both and B12 and B6 vitamins.
You can get a product called "Ammoryn" That has all 4 of these things together in each capsule. It has worked wonders for me and since it's all together it is easy to take it. Type in Ammoryn on google and see if you can find their site. I don't have it off hand.

The reason I suggest trying these things is because if it really is depression you should notice a difference after taking these . Remember alot of times depression meds (especially prescription meds) take 4 weeks to really kick in, so don't give up if you don't feel anything right away. After 4 weeks of taking these things go eat out at a restaurant. If you don't have the problems you mentioned, than it was probably depression or social anxiety disorder. If you still feel it alittle but not as much, up the dosage on the St. Johns wort and the 5-HTP. Hope this helps.

My sister had a problem for a while where she allowed her FEAR of throwing up to overshadow her life. She wouldn't eat because she said that she was so afraid that she would be sick afterwards. Not to mention she said she felt "sick" after eating. Now, i have gone too long without eating before, and then when i did finally eat I felt sick to my stomach because my stomach had shrunk down too far, and when i put food in it, it hurt because it stretched. Now.. have you been afraid of getting sick? Or are you nervous around people? Most problems in life.. especially one like this.. is basically all mental. You may be depressed, but there might be a more "simple" solution. Do you suffer from panic attacks? My mom, sister and i have all had troubles with it. I would suggest you read up on it and find out if that is what you might be suffering from. Good luck!

It could be a number of things, from the food to a physical ailment to additional psychological pressures. You really should see a doctor on this. If it is because of depression or something else, it could become physical as you start to alter your diet to accomodate these feelings (i.e. it could spiral into something more serious). If it is physical, then you really should get it checked out now.

You should also start tracking the types of foods that are causing these feelings, and those that you feel safer eating. Present this information to the doctor to help them make a better assessment.
