The Titanic was a very large ocean liner cruise ship which sank on it's maiden voyage between England, & NewYork. It was called "un sinkable" due to its use of top of the line technology at the time. It sank somewhere in the N. Atlantic ocean in April, 1912. The reason it sank was because it hit an ice burg which punctured the ships hull. It was named Titanic because of it's large size, & was owned by the the "White Star" line. There were only 706 survivors of this tragedy out of more than 2000 people on board. Most of the survivors were women & children from upper class families. There have been many books, & several movies done on this historical event. The last movie was in 1998. And starred Leonardo DiCaprio, & Kate Winslet. It won the oscar for best picture as well as 10 other oscars.

Hope this answers your question. Smiles! :)

It was a huge Ocean Cruise ship, the first of its kind. The Titanic hit an ice burg on its first voyage and sank - The ship only had a few life boats and only the women and children were saved. Most men died.. Watch movie for more details. Hope this question was not a JOKE>
