Do you usually cook chemicals with your food(other than the ones the food company adds) ??? Well every time you use one of these teflon coated cooking esentials you are in fact warming up some nice warm chemicals with your food. It may not harm you right off the bat but they do add toxins to your body. So yep they suck

It emits chemicals that can kill birds. Pans include instructions for use that discuss the proper temperature for use..and it's much lower than most people use for everyday things like frying bacon. Does anyone keep the instructions to their cookware? You can get flu like symptoms from it. I avoid teflon for skillets...but saucepans..you're usually boiling things...so overall the temp won't go over 212F and I think that's pretty safe. But I'd use whatever was around if I wasn't in my home kitchen, watch out for your parakeets and canaries though!

not if it is taken care of. Once the coating starts to flake off and can get in your food thats when it becomes harmful. To prolongthe life of the cookware use plastic utincils while cooking and wash with a dish cloth not a scrubby sponge.

I have heard that it is, but to what extent I don't know. I think its more harmful to your health when the coating begins to come off and we continue to use the pan.

Yes, if it is scratched or damaged. It will also kill birds if too high a heat is used. It only makes sense that if it will harm birds, it will harm humans.

Studies show that it is, especially when the pan gets scratched.
But who really knows. One week things are good and the next they are deemed bad.
I use common sense instead.

they say you shouldn't use teflon on high heat because it releases cancerous vapors. Use cast iron for high heat and teflon for medium.

only if you leave the pan on with nothing in it for more than 1 minute (like if you let the pan boil dry), at least thats what they said at one time on dateline or 20/20 (something like that)
