Remember though that I have learned basic chords, basic theory, and the chromatic scale but having trouble with pentatonics and don't know what to do next.

just a suggestion here
Practice
1. gear maintenance & cleaning -5 minutes
2. tuning and ear training -15 minutes
3. stretches & warmup w/metronome - 10 minutes
4. rhythm &chords,again metronome - 10 minutes
5.improvisation & soloing techniques
with or without CD's - 30 minutes
Break when needed
6. book work & note sight reading
from a decent book i.e. Mel Bay -20 minutes
7. scales & music theory
read and memorize both scales and theory
15 - 20 minutes
8. tab - just playing/practicing with your
favorite band/group w/tab if you can
20 minutes
9. other - record yourself if possible
try to write if only in memory your own
short songs - ???
please note: take breaks as needed
this is very important as is your positioning
and your posture
