if not why do some cats hop like a rabbit?

They have a different amounts of chromosomes so it is impossible.
Cats like to hop when they are playful or catching bugs

no two very different species can never mate, its kind of disgusting to even think about it. As for the hopping, cant a cat enjoy the fun of chasing butterflies too?

sure! The offspring is termed a Cabbot! It has the face of a cat, the front legs are that of a cat and the rear leg are that of a rabbit. that is the Gods straightforward reality! Bruce
