I have actually quite a collection of words that don't outrage, but rather disgust or irritate me. It's not based on their meaning or anything, just on their sound. I don't know how to explain it other than that some words just sound bad to me.
examples:
snivel
stroke (but on in the expression that someone is "looking for strokes", as in looking for positive reinforcement. In a swimming context, it doesn't bother me)
mushy
And yes, I am aware that this is extremely illogical.
