Did your "old computer" happen to "crash" - stop working?

*IF* so, your hard drive may be bad.........

Is the old drive formatted with WinXP Pro also? If it is formatted with another OS (say Win98), It will not be able to read the drive. The hardware manager may 'see' the drive, but the OS will not be able to use it.
