Don't get me wrong, Gay people have every right in my opinion to serve. Some of my closest friends are Gay and I cannot imgaine life without them. I just need to know where Hillary stands on this issue. If she does support Gays in the military would she pass legislation to permit them to serve openly? Or just stick to the "don't ask, don't tell".

Gay Soldiers Need to Shoot Straight, Not Be Straight

One of Bill's first challenges as commander in chief became the promise he made during the campaign to let gays and lesbians serve in the military as long as their sexual orientation did not in any way compromise their performance or unit cohesion. I agreed with the commonsense proposition that the code of military conduct should be enforced strictly against behavior, not sexual orientation.
Bill knew the issue was a political loser, but it galled him that he couldn't persuade the Joint Chiefs

Holbrook: I appreciate your input, but I didn't make the above statement, it's from Hillary's book Living History. I have no problem whatsoever with gays in the military. I served myself, in the Navy, and I knew quite a few lesbians myself in service. They were always a credit to their country in my experience.

What difference does it make? Gays are people too, and all people have the right to be whoever and whatever they are. God made them that way...Do you really think God is capable of making mistakes? God made us all different because he DOES NOT WANT all of us to be the same. He wants us to learn tolerance, love, kindness, and compassion, etc., even for those who are different than us. This world would be unspeakably boring if everyone was the same...Don't you think? Gays have just as much right to be in the military as anyone else, and should not be judged for who they are!!! Maybe, you should just worry about what kind of person you are, instead of worrying about other people's lifestyles.

Honey, at the rate we are going, whoever gets elected had better support damn near anybody who wants to volunteer for the military.

Unless, of course, we could ship out approximately 50% of the Yahoo answerers in this category :-)

What you are all for supporting the troops, does it really matter who they sleep with unless of course it isn't consensual? Who cares? If you want an all volunteer army and you don't want to get drafted boy than maybe you shouldn't want to pry into the private lives of the people who choose to fight for you lame but.
Sheesh your repubs always talking less governmnet but you want more government in our bedrooms. I am not gay and don't understand what one man finds sexy about another mans hairy backside but I don't think it should be regulated by the governemnt either.

Who cares? What is wrong with a gay person wanting to serve the nation? Think that they want sex in the middle of a battle?

LOL won't matter she'll be cutting military spending to support her National Welfare Health Care program, by the time she's done the troops will be using sling shots to protect the country.

I assume so, for three reasons. First, though it was her husband who instituted Don't Ask Don't Tell, that was essentially a compromise from his earlier strong support for gays in the military. Second, given that Hillary supports the troops in general, she'll support those troops who happen to be gay. Third, she HAS to support gays in the military because if she didn't, it would be naked pandering, similar to her call for a flag-burning amendment, which is also naked pandering.
