Is it the physical attraction, is it the innocence, is it the manners, is it the personality, is it the cleanliness, is it the smell, is it the dumbness, is it the stupidity, ...................... , is it the combination of some or all? Or is just a chemistry between 2 people? Or is it a mystery that we don't know how love happens? Or is there simply no logic behind it?

it is something iexplainable. Let me ask you how do you explain having that feeling for one particular person at a very young age, that never really went away no matter how many decades have gone by ? It's ironic to even dream about this person every now and then without having any contacts? If you asked me, I can point out who he is if I have to pick him out from a crowd.
2.5 decades gone by, and i found him. It is strange. I never thought that we would cross paths again. It may be a little too late now, but the good thing is it gave meaning to my life, and I wouldn't care anymore if I fell for anyone again, this is the love that I was waiting to complete me. Sadly, we don't talk in real life now under present circumstances.
We never met, we never have seen each other, and most of all I don't really know him personally- like his favorite, likes, dislikes, hobbies, interests etc. though I know him from back home, but i am in love with him. It is a mystery to me accompanied by stupidity.lol

What is love, really? There's a difference between infatuation and love, but sometimes one can lead to the other. One thing I can tell you that it absolutely is. It's a commitment! When you truly love someone, you're willing to put "them" before "you". That doesn't mean you don't receive, on the contrary. Love is the kind of thing that the more you give the more you have! Love shouldn't be seen as a 50/50 thing but 100/100! It's always a good thing if you've been in love for a while to remember your "first love" and rekindle the thoughtfulness you first showed.

Love, as the rationalists put it, is illogical. It's not rational, and doesn't make sense.

However, people still fall in love.

As the Sufi poet, Rumi, put it, "Harken to the sound of the reed flute, that yearns for the bed of reeds it came from," love for anyone, is simply the manifestation of the Love of the Divine for Himself.

It is a concept in mystical metaphysics that is difficult to grasp. However, I will attempt to break it down here.

According to the Sufi metaphysicians, the entire phenomenal reality is merely a manifestation of the Divine. The Divine possesses attributes, known as the Sifaat, in Sufi literature. Phenomenal reality, is merely the manifestation of these Sifaat of the Divine.

The Divine, possesses a quality which the Sufis term "Love for Himself." This quality is manifest in His creation in several ways. However, all these channels of manifestation can be traced back to, what I term, the First Manifestation. The First Manifestation is when the soul of the human longs or yearns for the Divine, as a manifestation of "Love for Himself." This First Manifestation then causes other manifestations. When the soul cannot transcend phenomenal reality, it looks for the Divine in creation itself. According to the Sufis, this is a mistake. Because of this mistake, people tend to fall in love with other things, or indeed, other human beings.

Many Sufis have said that physical, romantic or sensual love is a sickness, and it needs a correction. This is because they were able to transcend phenomenal reality, and reach into the Divine for their love, and did not need to resort to phenomenal reality to fulfill their desire as manifest in the First Manifestation.

it all depends, but love doesn't MAKE anyone fall in love, it just happens whether it's attraction or not it's the person personalty that Will overcome all the outside looks. Love doesn't Make anyone do anything but be happy and for love now and days it's so much of demanding and wanting things one from another, love is overrated now and days. people just lost the true meaning of love.

both lovers emerged in a state when they become all mentioned above in unity. There is a big difference between to have it and to be it. Basically we are found ourselves being who we really are and cannot handle it ...that imply that most of the life we live as who we are not. It is not fall. We fell long ago which metaphorically Bible speak of..well , we fell into our mind and with incredible ability of human to adopt any kind of changes,we call it normal, and being not in the mind we all it abnormal..both states would be abnormal with our total ignorance. ..well, love obviously taking you out of mind , literally, yet most admired and most wanted.Paradox? nope, if you solve it...I personally know that mind is not who we really are...we are those whom supposedly entitled to embrace mind as a tool but not being within it.So we are not fall in love rather love resurrect us, and we have no idea what to do with this, and how to be... Being In love we exist mindlessly. somehow things going extremely well in terms of personal heaven

Hi Carpe_Diem,
We fall into a stream of naturally occurring amphetamines running through the emotional centers of our very own brains... A precipitant of the interplay of the sexual and ego.. instinctual drives .. It is an idealized portrait of that interplay... That is love....
>>>>>>
You only "fall in love", with someone you nurture feelings for... It is impossible to just fall in love with someone else.. while in a relationship... It requires effort plain and simple.... ;)
>>>>>>>
Love is about people connecting, and sharing their happiness, sadness, successes, and failures with another person.. who cares for them.. and will always be there for them, no matter what.... ;)
>>>>>>>

Thanks, for the question!;)

My regards!

It is all those things. I believe people fall in love or in lust and confuse the two. Or it could be nature's joke on all of us. If the latter then nature is forever laughing.
