I weighed about 160 before my pregnancy, and have gained about 25 pounds so far (7 weeks remain). But, I am tall and I just look like Im smuggling a beachball outta Walmart. But I've heard that that expanded skin just kinda stays with you. What can I do to make it go away after birth?

That really depends on you, your diet & how much do you excercise. If you are breastfeeding you may see your stomach getting tighter faster because of the succion your baby makes while nursing causes the uterus to contract. Stick to a protein & calcium rich diet and make sure to stay active by either walking your baby or joining a mommy & baby gym or yoga classes (if you can afford it) is healthy and also fun.
You will never have the same pre-baby body since your hips are more likely to expand to help your baby go through the birth canal but you can get a healthy body with a flat tummy as long as you workout regularly, plus your baby will grow up to make healthy habits part of his normal life.
Good luck to you and your baby!

well first of all, you are doing great as far as gaining the proper amount of weight. i am also tall and am in my second pregnancy, and learned from my first one to ease up on the food intake.

As far as getting rid of the stretched skin after the baby comes; that all depends on your skin and body really. Some women can go right back to their old selves in 7mnths to a yr and be in a bikini the next summer. I however did not have such luck. The best thing to do is to exercise a lot, and stay positive. it takes time, but your body will look better and better as each month goes by.
You may find that after all your hard work of exercising and good diet, that you still have a little pouch of stretched skin at the bottom of your belly, but you are not alone and it can easily be covered. Just remember there are lots of women out there with the same problems and there are lots of solutions to make you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
take care and good luck with the little one :0)

It will really depend on what kind of shape you were in before you got pregnant. 160 really isn't all that much...especially if you are anywhere over 5' 6" tall. Your skin does stretch but I am the mother of 3 and I do not have a problem with my skin being all stretched out. If you have severe stretch marks then yes it will not go right back....but if they are mild or average...you should be just fine.
You will see a big change in your body especially your skin after about 6 weeks. But like most mothers you will be anxious ...give yourself at least 6 months to a year to heal. It really depends on what kind of shape you were in when you got pregnant. I wish you luck and congrats on the new baby!!

The amount of time it will take to get your shape back depends on the amount of effort you put into it. You do not sound like you have gained that much weight (I put on over 50 pounds). I was near my normal weight three months later at my brother's wedding.

Breastfeeding helps lose weight, as well as eating healthy and exercising. But, do not overdo it as your body will be healing!

As for the stomach, sit ups can help firm up your abdominal muscles. It is a good idea, for future reference, to go into a pregnancy with strong abs.
