I plan on getting on a Wii and trying to figure out the budget, I plan on buying some Wii points and downloading a few virtual games, such as Mario Kart 64 and perhaps a few NES games. Maybe put some music on the system too (is that possible with Wii like 360?). Well I was just wondering will a memory card upgrade be necessary? Especially with saving game data on the Wii also, maybe a 1GB or 2GB card? Thanks for the help.

Well, the wii has much space availible (Btw, you can check that when you download a VC game), and a memory upgrade shouldn't be nessesary unless you plan to buy over 15 regular games, or 25 or so VC games. You should be good to go, but if you want to play it safe, buy a 1gb SD card.

Don't get the card right away. You may never need one. It'll hold enough games. By the time you fill up the memory, you'll probably want to delete some of the games you find you don't play as often as you thought you would.

Be aware though, that you'll need a GameCube memory card if you plan on playing/saving any GC games on your Wii. Factor that into your budget.

you do not need a memory card right away. i have 12 games downloaded plus all my saved data and i think i used half of the wii memory. you dont need a memory card for a while. buy another game with the extra money. good luck and have fun

Not at first. Most of your savegame and downloadables can go to system memory and it should take sometime to fill up. SD cards are good if you wanna download a lot of stuff and/or view pictures that you can edit and mess around with and can send to other people. You can watch certain videos off of the cards as well.

Yes - once you start DLing items, you'll need more memory space...
