Although I already have a 360, I am considering buying a PS3.

I would say potential wise it would be the PS3, just because its a new system, and we haven't really seen the extent of what it can do. Xbox has had a year. The Wii is basically the underdog, but it also has potential to do something. The PS3 has the SIXAXIS controller which should show its potential in how it uses this in gameplay. There are also many new games coming out with special additions just for the PS3. The one thing I love to mention is the fact that the PS3 just came out, and its graphics look almost as good as the Xbox 360, and developers have had a year to unlock its potential. In the long run, I believe that the PS3 may win the next-gen war, but we can't underestimate the other systems. But people keep forgetting the BIG issue Xbox had after launch. Did they not notice that many people had theirs exchanged? When systems first come out, they will have problems. Secondly, the PS3 just came out. I expect Xbox 360 to have more games, Its been out for a year. The number of games for the PS3 is not reason enough to criticize it.

there will be more potential in the playstation 3...the reasons are...
the playstation 3 has just been released, the games luk just as gud as those on the xbox 360, and the xbox 360 has been around for a long time.
The ps3 can play games in the full hd format, which recently, the xbox 360 has also been updated to suport the true hd format, however, the update of this has caused many peoples xbox 360s to freeze, and this is because the xbox 360 is not supposed to go to the true hd format...

another reason why the ps3 has more potential, is because sony have sed that they are going to back the ps3 for over 10 to 15 years, so it will last you a long time....

the last reason why the ps3 has more potential, is because its the most powerful gaming system released to date.. it has the most powerful processor ever put into a games console...and this makes it much harda to make game which uses the proccessor to its max capabilities..but when game companies have learnt how to make games for the ps3, im sure it will be the best gaming system...

however, as you have an xbox 360, i dont think that u shud buy the ps3, at this moment and time, its not worth it considering u alredy have a games console that matches it...the xbox 360 has a wider range of games at the moment so i think that you shud just stick with that....and wait until the price of the ps3 drops... but if u reli want a ps3 for the blueray player or diffrent reasons, it wont be a bad thing

hope this helps!

Same here. Well, it's kind of sad to realize how much potential the Xbox 360 could have reached, yet it was rushed out to fit in before Christmas and ended up being really glitchy. I have one of my own and has been sent back 3 times. On the second time around they sent me a new one, because the old one wouldn't start up to the dashboard screen.

I am very close to taking the thing if it still doesn't work and whipping off the ground and then lighting it on fire.

If I were you I would buy the 60 GB PS3 and use it to its full potential. Even though it is more money, $600 in fact it's definitely worth it, because it doesn't have issues.

The overheating was a result of it being stored in glass boxes on display at stores. The system emits a lot of heat so of course its going to overheat in a box like that.

Potential is PS3. It has bluray, while Xbox 360 has an add-on external DVD HD drive.
However, the X-Box 360 will soon be updated and may become an equal in which case, it will be the better machine by having a large library of games that are utilizing the full power of the machine.

360 will prevail. playstation 3 was over marketed crap rife with bugs and hardware problems. The technology they touted as being so cutting edge will be outdated in less than a year. Constant overheating and freezing problems, Laggy online play with connection issues daily, need I go on?

The Wii was meant to fill the little niche that nintendo has always had.

The 360 has solid hardware with few issues and an established online service with virtually no problems. Those features alone will allow it to OWN the PS3. More games and also more accesible support should you ever have need of it.

Sure, the PS3 has more potential at 1080i graphics - but when game makers arent making games in 1080i yet, whats the point? Also, you will note that every single "exclusive" third-party title is now being released on Xbox360 - except for Metal Gear Solid. Is $600 worth playing ONE game?

If you want a PS3, at least wait until the price drops and they actually HAVE games in 1080i.

At one time I would have said the PS3, but I am seriously turned off right now, with the little marketing ploy they pulled at Christmas, only releasing 450000 into the US, while more PS3's sat on ships off the coast of California. Game makers that were making games exclusive to PS3 have pulled out, to make the game for another console. The price is still way too high and frankly I dont see much software out there for the darn thing.

360 is reliable. it truly works nicely in 1080i and has a twin center processor. It has a tremendous decision of video games. Its on-line prices money. It has a 40% failure fee (pink lights), that means that you've a 40% probability of your 360 breaking proper off the bat. there are quite some noobs and little youthful ones on xbox stay. Xbox 360 has an attachable HD-DVD at an more suitable cost, yet they dont even make HD-DVDs anymore. the HDD (confusing rigidity disk) prices more suitable. 360 makes use of DVDs, that are a max of about 8 gb. PS3 is impressive. It runs 1080p certainly. It has a 7 center processor, each and each doing its own job like physics, gfx, audio, AI, ect. it really is extra intense priced than the 360, yet its taking position quickly. Its on-line is loose and also you may receive finished video games, demos, blu-rays, themes, psp video games, ect. on the PSN (psnetwork). PS3 has pshome, it really is like an mmog without the fat human beings residing of their basement with a case of chips and fresca and its loose. PS3 has Blu-Ray equipped in. Infact the video games use Bluray, that are 40gb or 80gb double written. Bluray can carry 1080p with none upscaling. each PS3 comes with a HDD, so PS3 video games are put in onto the HDD for nonstop play and great quick load circumstances for ridiculous quantities of stuff. PS3 has a nil.02% failure fee, that means that you've a a million in 5,000 probability of failure. I absolutely have PS3, yet I also owned 360 so i dont have a bias. PS3 also has alot of video games, and all interest video games are going to be made on PS3 now, which means a extra appropriate sport. also, GT5. at the same time as it really is tricky to variety a image from the game, i imagine it speaks for itself. i comprehend its a replica and paste, yet i copied from myself
