Let me answer this correctly. It will stay within that price for a good while, since PS3 and WII just came out. And in order to stay afloat and make a good amount of money, it will remain as such. Don't hold your breath, it took them this long to update from the last system. Give it another 3-4 years, with a drop in about 2.5 or so.

An updated model of the 360 is about to be released so the price point will likely stay as is for some time. Besides, with higher sales than PS3, they don't need to reduce it anytime soon.

In about two years once something even better comes out. Remember the Sega Dreamcast? A year ago there was a place practically GIVING them away.
