Okay okay - I have just spoken to my IT guru of a boyfriend who has explained all this to me. Deary me, a girl tries to be independent and this is what happens.... I'll go back to baking cakes and buying shoes shall I????!!!!!

AOL found another sucker! AOL does NOT provide broadband! They connect you with a broadband service provider! They then charge you extra for their stupid browser! You are now paying for two providers! If you want broadband, find a provider in your area!

You cannot have just broadband you have to have a minimum of Option 1 (currently £11 Month) even if you do not make any Telephone calls. Do not even consider AOL. Suggest BT INternet package, Orange or forget BT and look at Talk Talks combined package it is cheaper.
