Which CPU is better ?

my first one is ntel Pentium 4 945 Dual Core "LGA775 Presler" 3.4GHz (800FSB)

and second is Intel Core 2 DUO E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz

i know that Pentium 4 945 Dual Core "LGA775 Presler" 3.4GHz (800FSB) will use more energy and heat ..what if i giving more its need and cooling well ..which CPU IS better for ..gaming pc ( i know that video card needs to be good as )..

Of the two listed, the first would be a better choice.
