I just reinstalled Windows XP on my laptop and whenever I start my computer up, the resolution is set at the smallest level. I have gone through the properties setting through Display but it wont let me move the little tab. I got advice to fix my video card but I don't know where that is. any clues?

Thats because you didnt install the graphics driver! Not knowing whether you have onboard graphics or a card you are on your own! Go to the PC manufacturers site and download the driver. If you have replaced the graphics with a card, you will need to go to the card mfg site.

You need the drivers for your video card. You can download them from the manufacturer of the cards site.
